A Moment of Reflection: Breast Cancer Awareness

This October, as we observed Breast Cancer Awareness Month, our CIS coaches engaged students in meaningful conversations about health, hope, and community support. Through classroom activities and thoughtful discussions, students learned that awareness goes beyond wearing pink—it’s about early detection, supporting loved ones, and recognizing our collective strength. These moments remind us that being present for our students means addressing not just their academic needs, but also helping them navigate real-world issues that touch their families and communities. We’re proud of our coaches for creating safe spaces where students can learn, share, and grow their capacity for compassion.

College & Career Week at Royal Palm Beach

Stephanie D., Communities In Schools of Palm Beach County Program Director, is dedicated to consistently being present for students. She orchestrated an impactful College and Career Week at Royal Palm Beach Community High School, featuring a “Boarding Pass to Success” workshop, a College and Career Panel with recent graduates and young professionals, a Financial Aid and Scholarship Workshop, and a Khan Academy College Readiness session. The
week concluded with a College and Career Fair where over 30 colleges, universities, and business partners transformed the school courtyard into a global map of opportunities, providing students with essential resources and guidance to make informed post-graduation decisions confidently.
